The IDF arrested 17 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
The terrorists were turned over to security agencies for further investigation.
Violent riots broke out during a counter-terrorism operation against rock-throwing terrorists in the Arab village of al-Arroub in the Hevron area, with Muslim terrorists throwing rocks and firebombs at IDF troops operating in the area.
A soldier was lightly wounded during the riots. He was evacuated to hospital for treatment.
In addition, as part of an ongoing campaign against illegal weapons, IDF troops from the Menashe regional brigade in the Tulkarem area found two local-made Carlo submachine guns.
The IDF, Border Police and the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria secured the prayers and entry of some 2,000 Jewish worshipers to biblical Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem.
During the forces’ entry into Shechem, Muslim terrorists threw rocks, firebombs, and fireworks at the troops. There were no casualties and no damage reported among the security forces.
The IDF responded with riot dispersal methods.
