Hundreds of Israelis attended Friday the funeral of 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher HY’D, who was found raped, stabbed 12 times and beheaded by Muslim terrorists Thursday evening near the Jerusalem’s Biblical Zoo.
The funeral was held in the Jewish community of Tekoa, south of Jerusalem, where she lived.
“I do not believe it, I do not know what to say. I think about you now – how you saw everything so sharp and clear. In the last year you did it, Ori, you won. You lived a whole life,” Ori’s father, Rabbi Gadi Ansbacher, eulogized her.
Ori’s sister, Tama, said: “Last Saturday you said that you do not believe that you will be 20 years old at the end of the year, and now you have gone. You taught me so much — to sing, to dance with all your light. All the time you tried to fix things and to grow. I love you so much and I’m sorry I didn’t always tell you that, goodbye Ori.”
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu expressed his deep sorrow over the murder:
“Ori Ansbacher of Blessed Memory was murdered with shocking cruelty in Jerusalem,” he said. “In this difficult time, we all embrace the Ansbacher family and the House of Tekoa. The security forces are investigating the murder. We will find those responsible for it and bring them to justice.”
Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said: “The heart aches in the face of unfathomable cruelty,” she said. “The villains will pay the price, hopefully soon. My heart is with the family. Ori lit a great light in her short life and the torch she lit will never go out. May her memory be blessed.”
President Reuven Rivlin sent a message of condolence to the victim’s family, saying “the heart breaks at the loss of life.”
Ori was serving in the Civilian National Service (Sherut Leumi), working in a youth treatment center in Emek Rafaim. She was missing since Thursday afternoon.
Ori was kidnapped by Muslim terrorists and was found raped, stabbed 12 times and beheaded Thursday evening in the Ein Yael forest, located near the Jerusalem’s Biblical Zoo and the Arab village of Walaja.
The terror attack is currently under a gag order.
