As a part of an undercover very complex rescue mission, IDF Special Forces entered 2 miles into Gaza in a civilian vehicle on Sunday evening.
IDF Lieutenant Colonel ‘M’ was killed and another officer was moderately wounded in a fire exchange that erupted between the IDF force conducting the mission and Hamas terrorists late Sunday night.
At least seven Muslim terrorists, including a Hamas leader in the Khan Yunis area, were eliminated. All the eliminated terrorists are part of the Hamas terror group armed wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, whose sole mission is to murder Jews.
According to Arab reports, the vehicle was destroyed by the IAF after the troops were extracted from the area.
Lt. Col. M was the most senior soldier killed in Gaza since the 2014 Operation Protective Edge.
The Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson’s Unit said about the lieutenant colonel that “His actions will not be published in the media but he deserves our salute. His actions led to Israel having superiority over its enemies.”
