IDF, Shin Bet arrest Muslim terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack in 2016

Cleared for publication: In a joint operation, the Shin Bet and the IDF arrested last month a Muslim terrorist who carried out a stabbing attack in the Jewish community of Efrat in December 2016.

According to the Shin Bet investigation, 27-year-old Hamas terrorist Ayman Muhammad ‘Ali Fujihara, from the Arab village of Jurat ash-Sham’a, purchased a knife in advance and arrived in the Jewish community of Efrat in order to murder Jews.

A 50-year-old Israeli man was lightly-to-moderately wounded in the terror attack.

The wounded man told authorities a Muslim terrorist stabbed him and fled the scene shortly after. The man sustained stab wounds in the back and neck.

MDA paramedics provided treatment to the man before transporting him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Initial investigations suggested that the terrorist entered Efrat via a vineyard located at the southeast of the community.
